Short Description
Juicy pan-seared chicken gets finished in a glossy sweet-and-savory glaze made with HapBee Berry Licious Honey, balsamic vinegar, garlic, and Dijon mustard. The berry-forward honey adds a subtle fruitiness that pairs beautifully with the tangy balsamic, creating an easy weeknight dinner that tastes far more sophisticated than the effort required.
Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, about 6 ounces each
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
For the Berry Licious Balsamic Glaze
- ¼ cup HapBee Berry Licious Honey
- ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon low-sodium soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon fresh thyme leaves or ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
- Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
- 1–2 tablespoons HapBee Berry Licious Honey
- Fresh blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries, optional
- Fresh thyme or parsley
- Balsamic reduction, optional
Directions
1. Season the chicken.
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
2. Prepare the glaze.
In a small bowl, whisk together the Berry Licious Honey, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, soy sauce, thyme, and black pepper.
3. Sear the chicken.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for approximately 5–6 minutes on the first side, or until deeply golden.
4. Flip and continue cooking.
Turn the chicken and cook for another 4–5 minutes, reducing the heat to medium if necessary.
5. Add the Berry Licious glaze.
Pour the glaze into the skillet around the chicken. Allow it to simmer gently for approximately 3–5 minutes, turning the chicken occasionally so it becomes evenly coated.
6. Caramelize the glaze.
Continue cooking until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. The Berry Licious Honey will caramelize slightly as the sauce reduces, creating a beautiful sweet-savory coating.
7. Finish and serve.
Remove from the heat and let the chicken rest for several minutes. Spoon the remaining glaze from the skillet over the chicken and finish with a very light drizzle of Berry Licious Honey.
HapBee Tip
For an impressive presentation, scatter a few fresh berries over the finished chicken and garnish with fresh thyme. Serve with roasted potatoes, wild rice, or a simple green salad to balance the sweet-and-tangy glaze.
